Lionel Messi-Led Argentina Football Team to Play in Kerala Next Year

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government announced on Wednesday that the Argentina national football team, captained by football icon Lionel Messi, will visit the state next year for an international friendly match. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan described the event as a tribute to Kerala’s enduring passion for football.

Sports Minister V Abdurahiman revealed during a press conference that the team will play two friendly matches in Kerala under the complete supervision of the state government. The venue and opponent team for the much-anticipated matches will be decided at a later stage, he added.

The announcement has generated tremendous excitement among football fans in Kerala, known for their fervent support of the sport and their admiration for Messi and the Argentina team. The matches are expected to further strengthen Kerala’s position as a hub for international sporting events.
