The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported the formation of a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to bring rainfall to northern districts of Odisha. The weather system, currently off the north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coasts, is forecasted to move northeastward and intensify into a depression by the morning of May 24.
