Kolkata: Kolkata Knight Riders’ seamer Harshit Rana faces the consequences of breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during their recent clash against Delhi Capitals. Rana has been slapped with a 100% match fee fine and a one-match suspension following his actions on the field.

This is not the first time Rana has found himself in hot water. Previously, he was fined 60% of his match fees for a similar offense – giving a flying-kiss send-off to Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Mayank Agarwal. In the recent game against Delhi, Rana’s actions mirrored his earlier offense, as he gestured towards Abhishek Porel and nearly repeated the same send-off, albeit stopping short before executing it fully. Additionally, Rana was observed appealing excessively after delivering a high delivery to Rasikh Salam.

The disciplinary action underscores the IPL’s commitment to upholding fair play and sportsmanship on the field. Rana’s suspension serves as a reminder to players to adhere to the league’s Code of Conduct, ensuring a level playing field for all teams.
