New Delhi: India is set to host the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup from January 13 to 19, 2024, marking a significant milestone in the global recognition of the traditional Indian sport. The event will feature teams from 24 countries, including the United States, England, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil.

The week-long tournament will take place at two prominent venues: the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi and the Noida Indoor Stadium. It will follow a league-cum-knockout format, ensuring a competitive and exciting display of talent from across the globe.

Announcing the event, Sudhanshu Mittal, President of the Kho Kho Federation of India and chairman of the tournament’s organizing committee, expressed pride in hosting this historic competition. “The Kho Kho World Cup is a major step towards popularizing the sport internationally and bringing global talent together on a single platform,” he said.

The tournament underscores India’s commitment to promoting its traditional sports on the international stage, aiming to inspire a new generation of athletes worldwide.
