Kayakalp Offers Free Care for Vitiligo

Kayakalp Global’s Free Telemedicine Drive Brings Hope to Over 1,000 Vitiligo Patients
In a powerful display of compassion and care, Kayakalp Global, in association with the Indian Vitiligo Association, observed World Vitiligo Day 2025 by offering free telemedicine consultations to over 1,000 vitiligo patients across India throughout the month of June.
The initiative, themed “1,000 Vitiligo Patients. 1 Day. 1 Mission,” focused on bridging the healthcare gap for individuals suffering from vitiligo—an often misunderstood skin condition that causes loss of skin pigmentation and can lead to severe emotional and social distress.
Many of the beneficiaries came from underserved Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns, where access to dermatological care is limited and awareness remains low. For these patients, the initiative provided not just medical advice but a sense of recognition and hope.
“On a day when the world paused to acknowledge the invisible pain of vitiligo, we wanted to go beyond symbolism and deliver tangible support,” said a spokesperson for Kayakalp Global. “This campaign wasn’t just about treatment—it was about empathy, dignity, and access.”
World Vitiligo Day, observed every year on June 25, aims to combat stigma and raise awareness around the psychological and social impact of the condition. Kayakalp Global’s month-long outreach transformed this mission into action, bringing expert dermatological guidance directly into patients’ homes through teleconsultations.
Doctors offered tailored treatment advice, mental health support, and information on ongoing therapies. The response was overwhelming, with hundreds of patients expressing gratitude for being seen, heard, and cared for—many for the first time.
Healthcare activists and dermatologists lauded the initiative as a model of equitable outreach. With the stigma around vitiligo still deeply rooted in society, such efforts are being seen as vital steps toward inclusion and dignity in healthcare.
Kayakalp Global has announced plans to continue similar outreach campaigns in the future, underscoring its commitment to bringing skin health support to every corner of India—especially where it’s needed most.
