Karan Johar Expresses Gratitude on National Award Win

Filmmaker Karan Johar said he felt immense gratitude and excitement after receiving the National Film Award for his 2023 film “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani”, which won the award for Best Popular Film for Wholesome Entertainment.

Known for blockbuster hits like “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai”, “Kal Ho Naa Ho”, and “My Name is Khan”, Johar is in Delhi to personally receive the honour.

Speaking to Doordarshan on the red carpet, he said, “This is my third national award in a row. In 2021, we got it for Shershah and in 2022 for Best VFX for Brahmastra. This year, to receive the award for the most wholesome and popular entertainer fills me with energy, excitement, and inspiration, along with immense gratitude.”

The filmmaker added, “I feel like I have done something right to win over the hearts of the audience and the jury.”

The National Film Awards, one of India’s most prestigious film recognitions, celebrate excellence in cinematic achievements across various categories every year.
