Kambhampati Prepares to Take Oath as Odisha Governor

Hari Babu Kambhampati Prepares for Transition to Odisha After Raghubar Das’s Resignation

Mizoram Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati is set to leave for Odisha to take his oath as the new Governor, following the resignation of Raghubar Das. Kambhampati has cut short his holiday in Andhra Pradesh, where he had initially planned to stay until the New Year, to prepare for his transition to Bhubaneswar.

Sources from Raj Bhavan confirmed that Kambhampati is scheduled to return to Aizawl on Friday. His decision comes after he attended the 72nd plenary session of the North Eastern Council in Agartala last Saturday. With his move to Odisha, Kambhampati aims to finalize arrangements for his new role at the Raj Bhavan in Bhubaneswar.

A communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan announced the appointment of General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh as the new Governor of Mizoram. Born on May 10, 1951, Singh is a distinguished former Chief of Army Staff and has had a notable political career, representing Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, in the Lok Sabha during the 2014 and 2019 elections on a BJP ticket. He has also held various ministerial roles under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including Minister of State for External Affairs and for Road Transport and Highways.

As Kambhampati prepares for his new responsibilities in Odisha, Mizoram is set to welcome General Singh, marking a new chapter in the state’s governance. The transition is expected to bring fresh perspectives to both states as they navigate their respective administrative landscapes.
