Indian Navy Sailing Championship 2024 to Begin at INA Ezhimala

The Indian Navy’s premier sailing event, the Indian Navy Sailing Championship (INSC) 2024, is set to take place at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, from October 16 to 19. Known as the largest and most anticipated regatta of the Indian Navy, the event will be held at the prestigious Marakkar Watermanship Training Centre (MWTC), one of the finest sailing facilities in India.

The championship will feature over 100 participants from the Indian Navy, who will compete in five different classes of boats across three racing formats. Teams from the three Naval Commands, including officers, cadets, and sailors, will showcase their sailing skills, including Agniveers.

Competitions will take place in popular formats of sailing. Fleet Racing will be held in ILCA-6 class boats for women, ILCA-7 for men, and Bic Beach class boats for windsurfing. Team Racing will be conducted in Enterprise class boats.

INSC is an annual event organized by the Indian Naval Sailing Association (INSA) to encourage competitive sailing among naval personnel. The Indian Navy views sailing as an essential activity for fostering seamanship, camaraderie, courage, and leadership qualities among its ranks.
