Illegal Arms Racket Busted in Agra, Six Arrested

Agra Police have dismantled an illegal arms supply racket, arresting six individuals, including the mastermind, who was trafficking firearms in the region.

The operation, conducted on Thursday by Sadar police, the Special Operations Group (SOG), and the surveillance team under ACP Vinayak Bhosale, led to the seizure of five pistols, five country-made firearms, 212 cartridges, and two licensed weapons—a rifle and a pistol.

Additional Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Tyagi revealed that the prime accused, Shubham, a resident of Agra, procured firearms from Firozabad and distributed them locally. The other arrested individuals—Adil, Amjad, Kasim, Asif Iqbal, and Shailendra Gupta—are all from Firozabad.

The crackdown highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb illegal arms trading in Uttar Pradesh, ensuring greater security in the region.
