With the countdown underway for the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup 2025, Hockey India has announced a nationwide Trophy Tour that will take the prestigious World Cup trophy across 20 cities before returning to Tamil Nadu — the host state of the tournament.
The tour will officially kick off on November 7, 2025, during the Hockey India Centenary Celebrations at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi. The event will be graced by Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin, FIH President Dato Tayyab Ikram, and Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey, among other dignitaries.
The Trophy Tour aims to connect fans across the nation and build excitement for the global event, which will be held from November 28 to December 10, 2025, in Chennai and Madurai. The tour will allow fans from different regions to witness the World Cup trophy up close and celebrate India’s rich hockey heritage.
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Dr. Dilip Tirkey, President of Hockey India, said, “The idea behind the Trophy Tour is to take the excitement of the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup to every corner of India. This is a historic moment as India hosts the largest-ever edition of the Junior World Cup with 24 teams. We want fans across the country to feel a part of this celebration and to send their best wishes to our Indian team before they begin their campaign in Chennai.”
The tour will culminate in Tamil Nadu, where teams from around the world will compete for the coveted title. With this initiative, Hockey India aims to not only spread the spirit of the game but also ignite national pride as the country prepares to host one of the most anticipated hockey tournaments in history.
