Governor Stresses Youth Role In Nation-Building

Odisha Governor Highlights Youth’s Role in Nation-Building
Bhubaneswar, Jan 31 : Emphasising the decisive role of youth in shaping the country’s future, Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Saturday said India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat depends not only on policies and plans, but on the character, competence and commitment of its young citizens.
The Governor was speaking at an “At Home” programme hosted in honour of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) contingent that participated in the 77th Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. The programme was held at the New Abhishek Hall in Lok Bhavan.
Welcoming the NCC cadets, Kambhampati expressed pride in hosting them and said the occasion reflected the spirit of patriotism, unity and youthful determination. “You are not merely cadets; you are torchbearers of India’s pride and the living promise of our nation’s future,” he said.
Referring to their participation in the Republic Day Parade, the Governor said it symbolised the cadets’ dedication, discipline and commitment to national service. Their smart turnout, flawless drill and unwavering spirit showcased not only individual excellence but also the enduring values of the NCC, he added.
Highlighting the NCC motto ‘Unity and Discipline’, Kambhampati said these principles serve as lifelong guides. The true success of the NCC lies in nurturing upright citizens who lead with integrity and serve with compassion, he noted.
Urging the youth to remain agile in thought amid rapid technological and social changes, the Governor stressed the importance of staying firmly anchored in values. He said the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat begins with self-belief and ethical conduct. “You are not spectators in this journey, but its architects. Your discipline builds order, your service builds trust and your leadership builds the future,” he said.
Prior to his address, the Governor interacted with the NCC cadets and enquired about their aspirations, including joining the defence services, pursuing government careers and higher education. The cadets actively participated in the interaction.
Commodore Vikram Singh, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate, Odisha, also addressed the gathering.
