Bypoll to Nuapada Seat Likely with Bihar Elections: ECI

The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Sunday announced that the by-election to the Nuapada assembly constituency in Odisha is likely to be conducted alongside the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

In a press release, the Commission stated that it has deployed 470 officers from various states as central observers — including general, police, and expenditure observers — to oversee the Bihar polls and by-elections across seven states, including Odisha.

The ECI clarified that these observers will function under the “superintendence, control and discipline of the Commission” from the date of their appointment until the completion of the election process.

The final schedule for the Nuapada bypoll is expected to be formally notified in the coming days.
