East Bengal FC Parts Ways with Forward Cleiton Silva After Three Seasons
Indian Super League (ISL) club East Bengal FC announced on Wednesday that they have mutually parted ways with forward Cleiton Silva after a successful three-season stint at the club. Silva leaves having played a pivotal role in East Bengal’s Super Cup victory and establishing himself as one of the most reliable forwards in the league.

The Brazilian forward joined East Bengal FC after a stint with Bengaluru FC and quickly became a key figure in their attack. Silva finished as the club’s top scorer in both the 2022-23 and 2023-24 ISL campaigns, netting 12 goals in the former and 8 goals in the latter. However, his form dipped in the 2024-25 season, where he only provided two assists in 18 appearances.

Despite missing several matches due to injury, Silva made his return for East Bengal FC’s final league match against NorthEast United FC, a 4-0 defeat. He also featured in their AFC Challenge League campaign, where the team’s journey ended in the quarter-finals.

Throughout his career in the ISL, Silva has been one of the league’s most prolific forwards, accumulating nearly 50 goal contributions in his last five seasons. Of those, 20 goals came during his time with East Bengal FC.

East Bengal FC expressed their gratitude to Silva for his contributions to the team and wished him the best for the future. The Brazilian’s departure marks the end of an era for the club, as they now look ahead to the next chapter of their ISL journey.
