Dravid: Indian Cricket’s Strength Lies in Talent Emerging from Every Corner of the Country

BENGALURU – Legendary cricketer Rahul Dravid emphasized on Sunday that Indian cricket has transformed into an “extremely powerful” force, largely due to the vast talent pool that now extends to the most remote parts of the nation. Speaking at the 50th-year celebration of Mount Joy Cricket Club, Dravid attributed this shift to the strong club cricket culture that has diversified the sources of talent beyond the traditional city-based players.

“If you look at Indian cricket today, it’s extremely strong, it’s extremely powerful. One of the big reasons for that is that talent comes from everywhere, from all over the country,” Dravid stated.

Dravid, who played a pivotal role in India’s T20 World Cup victory, highlighted the importance of nurturing talent at the grassroots level, which has helped India build a formidable cricketing force on the global stage.
