Department of Sports Advances Special Campaign 4.0 for Cleanliness and Efficiency
The Department of Sports has actively participated in the Special Campaign 4.0 launched by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG), aimed at promoting cleanliness and reducing pendency in government offices. This campaign, which runs from October 2 to October 31, 2024, began with the Fit India Swachhata Freedom Run 5.0 at Major Dhyanchand Stadium.
The campaign is structured in two phases. The first phase, which took place from September 16 to September 30, focused on identifying pending issues, including references from MPs, state governments, and public grievances. It also involved pinpointing areas needing cleanliness, beautification, and improvement. The second phase, running from October 2 to October 31, is dedicated to addressing the identified issues and enhancing the selected sites.
During Phase I, the Department identified 15 references from MPs, two parliamentary assurances, and 30 public grievances for resolution. Furthermore, 210 physical files and 220 e-files were earmarked for review, with plans for 44 cleanliness drives across the organizations under the Department, which includes the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), National Sports University (NSU), National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), and National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL).
In the initial two weeks of Phase II, significant progress has been made, with the Department resolving eight references from MPs, addressing two parliamentary assurances, and tackling 22 public grievances. Additionally, 210 physical files and 130 e-files have been reviewed, and 29 outdoor cleanliness drives have been conducted.
The Department of Sports is committed to ensuring that all pending matters ready for resolution are addressed and that the selected sites for cleaning and beautification are maintained according to the campaign’s objectives.
