Delhi GM Open Chess Begins June

Delhi GM Open Chess Tournament to Commence June 7 with Record Prize Pool
The 21st edition of the Delhi International Open Grandmasters Chess Tournament is set to begin on June 7 and run until June 14, attracting over 2,500 players from more than 15 countries. Among the participants are 20 Grandmasters, competing across three rating-based categories.
Organised by the Delhi Chess Association under the All India Chess Federation, the prestigious event boasts a record prize pool of Rs 1.21 crore and forms a key part of the FIDE World Championship Circuit.
The tournament features three categories: Category A, open to all internationally-rated players, with a prize purse of Rs 51 lakh; Category B, for players rated below 1900, offering Rs 35 lakh; and Category C, for players rated below 1700, also with Rs 35 lakh in prize money.
This year’s Delhi GM Open promises fierce competition and is expected to be a significant event on the global chess calendar.
