CM Majhi Warns CDOs, BDOs: Corruption and Negligence Will Not Be Tolerated

Bhubaneswar – Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi issued a stern warning to Chief Development Officers (CDOs) and Block Development Officers (BDOs) , making it clear that any form of corruption or negligence in duty will not be tolerated.

Addressing the State-level CDO and BDO Conference in Bhubaneswar, CM Majhi reminded the officers of their responsibility to serve the people with sincerity and dedication. “You have been appointed to serve the people. You must work with sincerity and a spirit of service,” he emphasized.

In a firm tone, he cautioned, “Let me make it clear—if you neglect your responsibilities, strict action will be taken. Corruption or negligence will not be tolerated under any circumstances.”

Highlighting the critical role of grassroots-level governance, Majhi said, “Our blocks are a reflection of our administrative success. If they function efficiently and people receive the benefits of all government schemes, it will demonstrate the government’s effectiveness.”

The Chief Minister reaffirmed his government’s commitment to inclusive governance, stating that ensuring the last person in the queue receives basic amenities is a top priority. “The success of the government lies in the effective implementation of schemes at the district and block levels,” he noted.

Calling CDOs and BDOs the direct link between the administration and the public, Majhi urged them to understand and address the real issues of people on the ground. “Do not treat the beneficiaries as objects of mercy—these are their rights. You are the bridge between the government and the people,” he said.

He also directed officials to ensure that all welfare schemes are not only implemented efficiently but also communicated clearly to the beneficiaries.

The conference underscored the importance the state government places on transparency, accountability, and people-centric governance, with CM Majhi setting the tone for a responsive and responsible administration.
