Odisha Girl Set Ablaze Remains Critical, Undergoes Surgery at AIIMS Delhi
The 16-year-old girl from Odisha’s Puri district, who was allegedly set on fire earlier this month, continues to remain in a critical condition at AIIMS, New Delhi. Hospital authorities confirmed on Wednesday that she underwent surgery for the management of deep burns.
According to a statement issued by AIIMS Delhi, the girl is currently on oxygen support and is being monitored round the clock by a team of specialist doctors.
“She is currently on oxygen support and remains in a critical condition. A dedicated team of doctors is closely monitoring her progress,” the statement said.
The girl was airlifted to Delhi for advanced treatment after sustaining severe burn injuries in a horrifying incident that shocked the state. The attack had sparked widespread outrage and demands for swift justice.
Authorities have assured that all necessary medical and legal measures are being taken to support the victim and ensure a thorough investigation into the case.
