BCCL posts Rs 23 crore loss

BCCL posts Rs 23 crore loss in December quarter on weak revenue

Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, reported a loss of Rs 22.8 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, driven by a decline in revenue.

This is the company’s first quarterly report following its market debut last month, and marks a sharp turnaround from the profit of Rs 424.99 crore recorded in the same period last year.

BCCL, one of India’s largest coking coal producers, saw its income fall to Rs 2,853.24 crore in the October–December quarter, down from Rs 3,756.86 crore during the year-ago period, the company said in a BSE filing.

The decline in revenue reflects weaker demand and pricing pressures in the domestic coking coal market, impacting the company’s profitability despite efforts to maintain production and operational efficiency. BCCL continues to focus on strategic initiatives to stabilize revenue and enhance long-term growth.
