Applied Materials and Tamil Nadu Government Launch AI Center for Semiconductor Innovation
Applied Materials India Private Limited has announced a significant collaboration with the Tamil Nadu Government to establish a cutting-edge Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science, focused on semiconductor manufacturing and equipment. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed recently, marks a pivotal step in strengthening India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
The new Center of Excellence will be located in Chennai and aims to be a hub for advanced technology development in the semiconductor industry. The initiative is designed to foster collaboration between Applied Materials, local universities, and industry partners to cultivate a skilled workforce and drive innovation in semiconductor technologies.
“We are excited to partner with the Tamil Nadu Government to create this Center of Excellence,” said an Applied Materials spokesperson. “This initiative will play a crucial role in developing a future-ready talent pool and supporting the growth of the semiconductor industry in Tamil Nadu.
