Adulterated milk unit busted in Cuttack

Adulterated Milk Manufacturing Unit Busted in Odisha’s Cuttack

Police in Odisha’s Cuttack district busted an adulterated milk manufacturing unit late Tuesday night, seizing chemicals and equipment allegedly used in large-scale milk adulteration.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a site behind a roadside eatery in Gurudijhatia near Athagarh. During the raid, officers recovered chemicals, salt, and powders suspected to be used in producing synthetic milk. A tanker and a van used for transportation were also seized from the spot.

Officials said that the raid was part of a crackdown on food adulteration rackets, which pose serious health risks to consumers. Samples of the seized substances have been sent for laboratory testing.

Police have launched an investigation to trace the network behind the illegal unit and identify those involved in the supply chain. Authorities have also assured stricter surveillance to prevent such rackets from thriving in the region.
