Adani Group, Embraer to set up regional aircraft manufacturing facility in India
Adani Group and Brazilian aerospace major Embraer on Tuesday announced a strategic collaboration to set up a regional aircraft manufacturing facility in India, marking a major boost to the country’s indigenous aerospace manufacturing ambitions.
The partnership aims to support India’s rapidly expanding civil aviation market and strengthen air connectivity to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, which are emerging as key growth drivers for domestic aviation.
Officials of Adani Defence & Aerospace and Embraer signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the strategic collaboration on regional transport aircraft at a समारोह held at the Ministry of Civil Aviation in the national capital.
Under the proposed collaboration, the two companies will explore setting up a manufacturing and assembly facility in India for regional aircraft, along with developing a supporting ecosystem for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), training and supply chains.
“With India among the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets, this partnership is aligned with the government’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives,” an official statement said.
The facility is expected to not only cater to domestic airline requirements but also position India as a potential export hub for regional aircraft in the Asia-Pacific and emerging markets.
Embraer is a global leader in regional aviation, while Adani Defence & Aerospace has been expanding its footprint in aerospace manufacturing. The collaboration is seen as a significant step towards building advanced aerospace capabilities in India and creating high-skilled jobs in the sector.
