Bhumi Pujan Held for India’s First Indigenous Semiconductor Facility in Jagiroad

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran conducted the Bhumi Pujan for India’s first indigenous semiconductor assembly and test facility on Saturday. The event took place at Jagiroad in Morigaon district.

The Rs 27,000 crore facility marks a significant milestone in India’s technological and industrial landscape. The ceremony was held with traditional rituals and hymns chanted by priests from various regions of the country, reflecting the importance and cultural significance of the occasion.

The new semiconductor assembly and test facility, spearheaded by Tata, represents a major step forward in India’s semiconductor sector, aiming to bolster the country’s capabilities in advanced technology and reduce dependence on imports.
