Sand tribute highlights Nari Shakti strength

Sand Art Tribute to Women’s Power Lights Up Puri Beach

Bhubaneswar, Apr 14 : Renowned sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik, a Padma Shri awardee, created a striking sand sculpture at Puri Beach to celebrate the spirit of Nari Shakti Vandan.

The impressive artwork, symbolising women’s strength, unity, and leadership, conveyed a powerful message—that an empowered woman forms the foundation of an empowered nation. The sculpture, crafted with remarkable precision, stood around six feet tall and used nearly five tonnes of sand.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of women and young girls, who gathered to express solidarity and support for women-led development. The initiative highlighted the evolving role of women as key drivers shaping the country’s future and policy direction.

On the occasion, Puri Member of Parliament Sambit Patra lauded Patnaik’s effort, describing it as a meaningful initiative to spread awareness about the importance of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act and inspire women across all sections of society.

Speaking at the event, Patnaik emphasised that the Prime Minister’s vision centres on empowering women and girls for a “Viksit Bharat,” adding that initiatives like the Nari Shakti Vandan Act are paving the way for a stronger and more inclusive India.
