Mrunal Thakur Balances Bollywood, South Films

Mrunal Thakur Aims to Balance Career Between Bollywood and South Cinema
Following her success in Telugu cinema with hits like Sita Ramam and Hi Nanna, actor Mrunal Thakur has announced her intention to actively balance her career between Bollywood and South Indian films.
Born in Dhule, Maharashtra, to a Marathi-speaking family, Thakur made a remarkable entry into Telugu cinema with the 2022 period romance Sita Ramam, co-starring Dulquer Salmaan, and later earned acclaim for Hi Nanna alongside Nani.
“When I started my career, there were so many things on the planner, I needed to do this or that, but the time was not correct then. Now when the time is right, I want to make sure that I give my all out and balance both the industries,” Thakur told PTI.
Thakur began her acting journey in television, featuring in popular shows like Mujhse Kuch Kehti… Yeh Khamoshiyaan and Kumkum Bhagya, before transitioning to films. Her conscious choice to work across Hindi and South Indian cinema reflects her growing versatility and ambition to engage audiences nationwide.
Industry analysts say this dual focus could position Thakur as one of the few actors successfully bridging Bollywood and regional cinema while maintaining strong fanbases in both industries.
