Haryana Police Remove Songs Glorifying Gang Culture

67 songs promoting mafia lifestyle, gun culture removed from digital platforms: Haryana Police
The Haryana Police on Tuesday said that 67 songs promoting gang culture, glorifying weapons and encouraging violence have been removed from various digital platforms as part of a broader crackdown on content that fuels criminal behaviour among youth.
In a statement, Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Ajay Singhal said the action was taken under an ongoing campaign aimed at curbing the influence of gangster culture and violence-oriented content in the state. “The action taken against 67 songs is part of a larger campaign, and further strict action will continue,” he said.
The police said such content has a negative social impact, particularly on young people, by normalising criminal lifestyles and the use of firearms. The crackdown, officials said, is intended to deter the spread of content that glorifies lawlessness and threatens public order.
The Haryana Police, however, did not disclose the names of the songs that were removed or the digital platforms from which they were taken down.
Officials added that monitoring of online content would be intensified and legal action would be initiated against those found creating or promoting material that incites violence or criminal activity.
