CM directs linking data of natural farming practitioners with Him Parivar Portal

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday directed the Agriculture Department to link detailed data of farmers practising natural farming with the Him Parivar Portal by January 20, 2026, to create a comprehensive block-level database across the state.

Presiding over a meeting of the Agriculture Department here, the Chief Minister said that promoting natural farming methods would boost farmers’ income and strengthen the rural economy. He stressed the need to encourage youth to take up natural farming, describing it as a sustainable path to economic empowerment in rural areas, according to an official statement.

Sukhu said the state government is working towards bringing revolutionary changes in the natural farming-based system and ensuring better policy planning through accurate and updated data. Linking farmers’ details with the Him Parivar Portal, he said, would help in targeted interventions, monitoring and effective implementation of welfare schemes.

The Chief Minister also announced that he would interact with farmers associated with natural farming at a conference scheduled to be held later this month in Hamirpur, aimed at understanding ground-level challenges and promoting wider adoption of natural farming practices across Himachal Pradesh.
