‘Indian Idol 3’ Winner Prashant Tamang Dies at 43

Singer and actor Prashant Tamang, who rose to national prominence after winning “Indian Idol 3” and was recently praised for his role as a cold-blooded assassin in “Paatal Lok 2”, died on Sunday following a cardiac arrest. He was 43.

According to his close friend, singer Mahesh Sewa, Tamang passed away at his residence in Janak Puri in the morning. He was rushed to a hospital by his family, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

“I am shocked by his untimely demise. I spoke to him a few days ago and he was hale and hearty,” Sewa told PTI.

Prashant Tamang shot to fame after winning the third season of the popular singing reality show “Indian Idol”, earning widespread admiration for his distinctive voice and humble background. In recent years, he had also made a mark as an actor, receiving appreciation for his performance in the web series “Paatal Lok 2”.

Tributes poured in from fans and members of the entertainment industry, mourning the sudden loss of the singer-actor at a young age.
