Odisha Ministers Visit Malkangiri, Internet Ban Extended Amid Tension

Two Odisha ministers visited violence-hit Malkangiri district on Thursday to review the situation, while the administration extended the suspension of internet services by another 12 hours.

Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo and MSME Minister Gokulananda Mallick reached the district headquarters and chaired a meeting with senior officials, including the Collector, ADGP (Naxal operation), DIG (Southern Range), and the SP, to assess the prevailing situation at MV-26 village.

Officials informed the DyCM that no violence has been reported in MV-26 village in the past 60 hours, indicating a relative calm in the area. Authorities are maintaining heightened vigilance to prevent any further disturbances.

The internet suspension remains in place as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety and monitor the evolving situation closely.
