Qualcomm to Make India Key Engineering Base for IP Camera Technology
Chipset major Qualcomm plans to establish India as a key engineering hub for its IP camera technology, with significant expansion expected in 2026, a senior company executive said on Thursday.
The company is deepening its presence in the smart surveillance sector through a partnership with CP Plus, integrating Qualcomm’s AI and edge computing capabilities into next-generation security devices.
“India will be one of our key engineering hubs, driving significant co-development, especially for the AI and SaaS platform that we are building,” said Nakul Duggal, executive vice president and group general manager for automotive, industrial and embedded IoT and robotics at Qualcomm Technologies.
With the move, Qualcomm aims to accelerate innovation in AI-driven surveillance solutions, tapping into India’s growing ecosystem of engineering talent and expanding opportunities in connected security technologies.
