CDS Gen Anil Chauhan Hails ‘Operation Sindoor’ as Model of Modern Warfare

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Tuesday described Operation Sindoor as a compelling example of modern warfare, highlighting the effective use of precision strikes, network-centric operations, digitised intelligence, and multi-domain tactics executed within a short time frame.

Speaking at the Delhi Defence Dialogue on the theme “Impact of Technology on Modern Warfare”, General Chauhan emphasized the transformative role of technology in redefining the nature of contemporary military operations.

“Technological superiority has become a decisive factor in determining success on the battlefield,” he said, urging the armed forces to remain agile and responsive to rapid technological advancements.

The CDS noted that Operation Sindoor demonstrated how integrated warfare systems, real-time intelligence, and digital connectivity could enhance operational efficiency and strategic precision. He added that such coordinated efforts reflect India’s growing capabilities in leveraging technology to achieve tactical and strategic dominance.

General Chauhan also stressed the importance of fostering indigenous innovation, artificial intelligence-driven defence systems, and cyber resilience to ensure India’s preparedness in future conflicts marked by speed, precision, and information superiority.

The Delhi Defence Dialogue 2025 brought together senior military officials, strategic experts, and defence industry leaders to deliberate on evolving doctrines and the role of emerging technologies in securing national interests.
