Odisha Farmers Get Aid Under CM-Kisan-Yojana

Odisha CM Transfers ₹1,041 Crore to 51 Lakh Farmers Under CM Kisan Yojana
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday transferred over ₹1,041 crore to the bank accounts of more than 51 lakh farmers under the CM Kisan Yojana through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The amount represents the third installment of the scheme.
Majhi said the assistance has been provided in advance, keeping in view the month of Bhadra, which marks the sowing of new crops and the start of pre-Rabi agricultural activities. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to not only doubling but multiplying farmers’ income.
Praising the farming community, the Chief Minister said their collective efforts have significantly boosted agricultural production in the state. “Over 60 percent of Odisha’s population depends on agriculture and allied activities. More than 82 percent of our farmers are small and marginal, while many landless families also rely on agriculture for their livelihood,” he noted.
The CM Kisan Yojana, funded entirely by the state government, provides direct financial support to small and marginal farmers for the purchase of seeds and fertilizers during both Kharif and Rabi seasons. Majhi described it as an innovative welfare initiative aimed at ensuring the financial self-reliance of farming families.
Reiterating his government’s farmer-first approach, he said, “Our government does not merely assist farmers; we stand as partners in their aspirations and hopes.” He also emphasized that during the last fourteen months, the state has extended timely support to farmers, whether through welfare schemes or during natural disasters.
