Star Air Adds Kolhapur Direct Flights

Star Air to Launch Direct Flights from Kolhapur to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Nagpur

Regional airline Star Air is set to expand its network with the launch of direct flights connecting Kolhapur to three major cities — Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Nagpur — starting May 15, the carrier announced on Sunday.

This move is part of Star Air’s efforts to strengthen regional connectivity under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme, making air travel more accessible across tier-2 and tier-3 cities.

Currently, Star Air operates 16 weekly flights from Kolhapur, covering Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Tirupati through direct and via routes. With the addition of the new routes, the number of destinations served from Kolhapur will increase to seven, while weekly flight frequencies will rise to 28.

“This expansion will significantly improve Kolhapur’s connectivity with key business and cultural hubs in southern and central India, offering passengers greater flexibility and convenience,” the airline said in a statement.

Star Air has been steadily expanding its footprint across underserved regions in India, playing a vital role in boosting regional air travel and economic growth.
