Accel Elevates Parekh, Agarwal to Partner

Accel Promotes Rachit Parekh and Pratik Agarwal to Partner Roles in India Office
Global venture capital powerhouse Accel has announced the promotion of Rachit Parekh and Pratik Agarwal to Partner at its India office, reinforcing the firm’s strategy of nurturing leadership talent from within.
Both Parekh and Agarwal, who joined Accel in 2019, have been instrumental in key areas including investment sourcing, founder partnerships, and portfolio support, the firm said in a statement on Wednesday.
The promotions come at a pivotal time for Accel, which recently unveiled its eighth India-focused fund worth USD 650 million, dedicated to backing innovative startups from seed stage to scale. The firm, which began investing in India in 2008, has a track record of early-stage bets on unicorns such as Flipkart, Swiggy, Freshworks, Zetwerk, and BlackBuck.
With India emerging as a hub for technological innovation, Accel is now doubling down on sectors like artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, and next-gen consumer and fintech models.
“In expanding our team and capital base, we are sharpening our focus on identifying and supporting ambitious founders who are building for India and the world,” Accel said, adding that its approach remains rooted in hands-on support, deep sector expertise, and long-term alignment.
To support the broader startup ecosystem, Accel continues to run several founder-centric initiatives. Its SeedToScale platform provides open-source company-building insights, while its early-stage scaling program Accel Atoms has already helped 36 startups raise over USD 200 million collectively.
These developments underscore Accel’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey.
