Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday emphasized the need to develop the Delhi Vidhan Sabha as a “model” Assembly and encouraged newly elected MLAs to embrace modern technology, including Artificial Intelligence, to enhance their legislative skills.

Speaking at the inauguration of a two-day orientation program for Delhi MLAs, Birla highlighted the growing expectations of the people from their representatives and the new government.

“Delhi, as the national capital, is like a ‘Mini India’, representing the diversity of people from different states living here. It is a big responsibility to meet their expectations and address their issues through infrastructure development and social welfare,” he said.

The orientation program aims to equip legislators with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively perform their duties. Birla’s call for technological upskilling reflects the increasing role of digital advancements in governance and policy-making.
