52 Drug Samples Found ‘Not of Standard Quality’ by Central Drugs Laboratories

The Central Drugs Laboratories (CDL) has identified 52 drug samples manufactured by various pharmaceutical firms as “not of standard quality” (NSQ) in its monthly drug alert for February, health ministry officials said on Friday.

Additionally, the State Drugs Testing Laboratories flagged 93 drug samples as NSQ in November, raising concerns over drug quality and safety.

As part of routine regulatory surveillance, the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) continues to display the list of NSQ drugs on its portal every month. The findings highlight the need for stringent quality checks in the pharmaceutical sector to ensure public health and safety.
