11th Kalinga Literary Festival to Highlight Global and Indian Voices

The 11th edition of the Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) is set to take place from March 21-23, 2025, in the historic city of Bhubaneswar. With over 500 speakers from across the globe, the festival promises a vibrant celebration of ideas, languages, and cultures, featuring thought leaders, Nobel laureates, Booker winners, and Sahitya Akademi recipients.

Held across three iconic venues—Mayfair Lagoon, Kala Bhoomi, and Guru Kelu Charan Mohapatra Odissi Research Centre—KLF 2025 will delve into a wide range of themes, including cultural nationalism, female empowerment, crime fiction, translation, poetry, economics, and artificial intelligence. Key sessions will also explore global crises, sports, ethics, and more, offering a unique platform for intellectual and creative exchange.

“KLF is more than just a literary festival—it is a movement that bridges Indian regional voices with global literary innovation,” said Rashmi Ranjan Parida, Founder-Director of KLF. The festival aims to foster dialogue, provoke thought, and celebrate the resilience of literature.

In addition to the main festival, the Kalinga Art Festival will showcase over 60 exceptional artists, blending tradition with modern artistic expressions. The festival will also feature Heritage Walks, Mystic Mic sessions, and cycling tours through Bhubaneswar’s cultural landscape.

“KLF continues to empower emerging talent and provide a space for aspiring writers and thinkers to engage with established luminaries,” said Ashok Kumar Bal, KLF Patron and CEO.

Since its inception in 2013, KLF has welcomed nearly 4,000 speakers and performers, positioning itself as a significant cultural event with a global impact. Following its success in Bhubaneswar, KLF has also expanded to Kathmandu, with future plans to host festivals in Colombo and Bali, strengthening literary ties with Southeast Asia.
