Tendulkar leads praise for India’s triumph

Tendulkar hails India Women’s record win over Australia
The Indian sporting fraternity erupted in celebration after the women’s cricket team scripted a historic triumph over defending champions Australia to storm into the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup final on Thursday night.
Leading the applause was cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who lauded the team’s grit and composure in chasing down a daunting target with remarkable poise. “A fabulous performance by our women in blue! Jemimah and Harmanpreet showed what belief and temperament can achieve under pressure,” Tendulkar posted on social media.
The hero of the night, Jemimah Rodrigues, produced a career-defining unbeaten 127 — her third ODI century and first on the World Cup stage — guiding India to a record five-wicket victory over Australia at the DY Patil Stadium. Partnering with captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who struck a fluent 89 off 88 balls, Jemimah added a match-turning 167-run stand for the third wicket.
Congratulatory messages poured in from across the sporting spectrum. Former India captain Mithali Raj called it “a golden chapter in Indian women’s cricket,” while Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra and badminton star PV Sindhu hailed the team’s resilience and fighting spirit.
With this win, India entered their third Women’s ODI World Cup final, setting up a blockbuster title clash and igniting hopes of a maiden world title.
The victory, achieved against the mighty Australians, not only showcased the growing strength of Indian women’s cricket but also inspired a new wave of pride and passion among fans across the country.
