SRK Pays Heartfelt Tribute to Dharmendra, Calls Him ‘Father Figure’

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Monday mourned the death of legendary actor Dharmendra, describing him as “nothing short of a father figure”. Dharmendra, 89, passed away at his Juhu residence after a prolonged illness, leaving the film industry and fans grieving the loss of one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved icons.

Shah Rukh Khan, who attended the veteran actor’s last rites at the Pawan Hans crematorium, shared an emotional note on X, recalling Dharmendra’s warmth, affection and towering legacy.

“Rest in Peace Dharam ji. You were nothing short of a father figure to me… thank you for showering me with blessings and love the way you did,” SRK wrote. He added that Dharmendra’s passing is “an inconsolable and irreplaceable loss” not only for his family but for cinema and film lovers across the world.

Dharmendra, known for iconic roles in films such as Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar and Chupke Chupke, leaves behind a legacy spanning more than six decades. His death marks the end of an era in Indian cinema.
