Shonali Bose, Nilesh Maniyar’s ‘A Fly On the Wall’ to Premiere at Busan International Film Festival

The much-anticipated documentary A Fly On the Wall, directed by Shonali Bose and Nilesh Maniyar, is set to make its world premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). The film, which is part of the festival’s prestigious Wide Angle Documentary Competition section, tells the poignant story of Chika Kapadia, a close friend of the filmmakers who chose physician-assisted suicide in Switzerland after being diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2022.
The documentary offers an intimate portrayal of Kapadia’s final days and explores the emotional complexities of end-of-life decisions. Bose and Maniyar, who are known for their evocative storytelling, capture the raw and personal journey of their friend as she faced her terminal illness.
A Fly On the Wall will be competing alongside other notable projects in the Wide Angle Documentary Competition, including Ainu Puri, Another Home, At the Park, Every Single Dot, Gingerbread for Her Dad, K-Number, Ms. Hu’s Garden, The First Responders, and Works and Days.
