Shiv Sena Targets Kamra Over Remark

Shiv Sena MLA Vows to Question Kunal Kamra Over ‘Traitor’ Remark on Eknath Shinde
Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel has declared that his party will confront stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra over his controversial remark against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The comedian is currently facing legal action after allegedly referring to Shinde as a “traitor” during one of his performances.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Patel—whose complaint led to the registration of a police case against Kamra—said the comedian had been avoiding visiting Maharashtra to evade accountability. “Whenever Kamra comes to Mumbai, we will definitely seek answers from him,” Patel asserted.
The case has sparked a fresh political and legal row, with free speech advocates criticizing the move as an attempt to suppress satire, while Shiv Sena members maintain that the remark was defamatory and disrespectful to a public leader.
Kamra has yet to publicly respond to the latest developments.
