New Delhi, April 29, 2024: Indian badminton fans have reason to celebrate as seven shuttlers, including former world champion PV Sindhu, have officially qualified for the Paris Olympics. The qualification comes across four categories, based on their Olympic Games Qualification rankings.

PV Sindhu, along with ace singles players HS Pranoy and Lakshya Sen, had previously secured their spots. However, the qualification process was formalized on Monday, the cut-off date set by the international badminton federation (BWF).

The Olympic qualification criteria stipulates that the top 16 shuttlers in men’s and women’s singles, based on their Olympic Games Qualification ranking on the cutoff date, secure their tickets to the quadrennial showpiece event.

Indian badminton continues to witness a surge in talent and prowess on the international stage, with Sindhu, Pranoy, and Sen leading the charge. As preparations for the Paris Olympics gain momentum, all eyes will be on these athletes as they aim to make their mark and bring glory to the nation on badminton’s biggest stage.
