RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha join selectors panel

RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha Likely to Join Senior Selection Panel

Former India cricketers Rudra Pratap Singh and Pragyan Ojha are set to join the BCCI’s senior national selection committee, replacing outgoing members S Sharath and Subroto Banerjee.

RP Singh, one of the key architects of India’s 2007 T20 World Cup triumph and a standout performer in the preceding Test series against England, will represent the Central Zone. Having played most of his domestic cricket for Uttar Pradesh, RP also played a vital role in Parthiv Patel-led Gujarat’s Ranji Trophy win in the 2016-17 season. He will replace Subroto Banerjee in the panel.

Ojha, a former left-arm spinner who represented India across formats, is expected to fill the vacancy left by S Sharath. Known for his consistency in domestic cricket and valuable stints with the national side, Ojha’s inclusion is seen as a boost for the selection panel.

The committee is currently chaired by former India pacer Ajit Agarkar, and the inclusion of Singh and Ojha is expected to bring fresh perspective and balance to the panel.
