Rani Mukerji Emotional After Winning First National Award

Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji expressed heartfelt emotions on Wednesday after winning the first National Film Award of her 30-year career. She dedicated the honour to her late father, filmmaker Ram Mukerji.

Rani was conferred the Best Actress award for her performance in Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway by President Droupadi Murmu at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony on Tuesday.

Directed by Ashima Chibber, the film, released in March 2023, received critical acclaim for its gripping storytelling and Rani’s powerful performance.

Rani described the recognition as an emotional milestone, saying, “This honour means the world to me,” reflecting her gratitude and pride in the achievement.
