Rabada Lauds South Africa’s Depth After Historic Win Over India

South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has hailed his team’s resilience and depth after their remarkable 30-run victory over India in the first Test, despite missing key players due to injuries. Rabada himself sat out of the match with a rib injury but said the performance showed South Africa’s growing ability to “find a way to win.”

Defending a modest 123, the reigning World Test Championship winners bowled out India inside three days, sealing their first Test victory on Indian soil in 15 years and taking an unassailable 1–0 lead in the two-match series.

“No matter who sits out, we can still find a way to win. (Skipper) Temba (Bavuma) has been crucial for us, but he hasn’t played every game. I haven’t played this game,” Rabada said in a video released by Cricket South Africa.

The win underlined South Africa’s depth in both bowling and leadership, with several younger players stepping up in the absence of senior figures. The team will now look to carry forward the momentum into the second and final Test.
