Prithvi Shaw Smashes Third Fastest Double Ton in Ranji Trophy
Opener Prithvi Shaw continued his blistering form, smashing the third fastest double century by an Indian batter in first-class cricket as Maharashtra tightened their grip over Chandigarh on the third day of their Ranji Trophy Group B match on Monday.

Shaw reached his double ton in just 141 balls, a knock laced with aggressive stroke play and exquisite timing, propelling Maharashtra to a commanding position. His innings helped the side set Chandigarh a daunting target of 464 runs.

At stumps, Chandigarh were 129 for one, with Arjun Azad and skipper Manan Vohra unbeaten on 63 and 53 respectively, showing some resilience after a challenging day in the field.

Shaw’s explosive innings reaffirmed his reputation as one of India’s most attacking domestic batters and is expected to boost his case for a national comeback in red-ball cricket.
