President of India Celebrates Raja Parb at Rashtrapati Bhavan
Today, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, the President of India, graced the Raja Parb celebration at Rashtrapati Bhavan, marking a historic first for this Odisha agricultural festival in the nation’s capital.
The festivities featured vibrant cultural performances, including Raja geet and traditional dances like Mayurbhanj Chhau, Sambalpuri, and Karma dances. Decorated swings adorned with flowers added to the festive ambiance, showcasing the essence of Odia tradition.
Mehndi artists adorned participants, while Odia cuisine, featuring various types of pitha, sherbet, and paan, delighted guests. The event offered a unique glimpse into Odia culture and lifestyle, highlighting the significance of Raja Parb, a cherished festival celebrating the monsoon onset with fervor among women and children across Odisha.
