President Droupadi Murmu Extends Warm Greetings to Nation on Diwali Eve

President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday extended her warm greetings and best wishes to all citizens of India and Indians living abroad on the eve of Diwali, the festival of lights.

In her message, the President said Diwali is one of India’s most cherished festivals, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. She noted that the festival, celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm, carries the message of mutual affection, harmony, and brotherhood.

“On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all Indians, both in India and across the world,” the President said.

She reminded people that Diwali is not only a time of joy and celebration but also an opportunity for self-reflection and self-improvement. President Murmu urged citizens to extend a helping hand to the deprived and needy, spreading happiness in their lives.

Appealing for responsible festivities, she said, “I urge everyone to celebrate Diwali safely, responsibly and in an environment-friendly manner. May this Diwali bring happiness, peace, and prosperity to all.”

The President’s message emphasized the spirit of unity, compassion, and sustainability as the nation prepared to celebrate the festival of lights.
