President Honours Scouts, Guides with Awards

President Droupadi Murmu Confers Scouts/Guides/Rovers/Rangers Awards for 2018–2021

In a ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan today, the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, presented the Scouts/Guides/Rovers/Rangers Award Certificates for the years 2018 to 2021. The event honoured the exceptional contributions of young members from Bharat Scouts and Guides who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to community service, discipline, and leadership.

Addressing the gathering, President Murmu lauded the awardees for their dedication to the values of selfless service, integrity, and teamwork. She emphasized the pivotal role played by Scouts and Guides in nurturing responsible citizens and strengthening the fabric of the nation.

“These young individuals are symbols of hope, service, and determination. In today’s rapidly changing world, their commitment to values like discipline, compassion, and cooperation is commendable,” the President said.

The awardees were selected from across the country based on their achievements in various fields such as disaster response, environmental protection, social service, and personal development. The Scouts/Guides/Rovers/Rangers Awards are among the highest national recognitions in the scouting movement.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, along with leaders of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, attended the event. The occasion also featured cultural performances and testimonials from awardees, highlighting the transformative power of scouting in their lives.

The ceremony, covering four years of awards from 2018 to 2021, was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic but was conducted with great enthusiasm and pride today.

This prestigious recognition continues to inspire thousands of young Indians to contribute actively to their communities and strive for excellence in nation-building.
