PRAYAS Goa Boosts Kids Neurological Care

PRAYAS at AIIA Goa Enhances Quality of Life for Children with Neurological Disorders
The PRAYAS centre at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Goa is emerging as a pioneering initiative in paediatric neuro-rehabilitation, offering renewed hope to children suffering from neurodevelopmental and neurological disorders through an integrated approach that combines Ayurveda, yoga and modern therapeutic practices.
Launched in November 2025, the first-of-its-kind facility provides coordinated rehabilitation services aimed at improving the overall quality of life of young patients. The centre has already made a significant impact, benefiting 574 patients through its specialised neuro-muscular and neuro-behavioural outpatient departments, while 176 children have received integrated inpatient care services.
PRAYAS adopts a multidisciplinary model that brings together traditional Ayurvedic principles with contemporary rehabilitation techniques, ensuring holistic and personalised treatment plans for children with developmental and neurological challenges.
Highlighting the centre’s vision, Dr Sujata Kadam, Dean (Academic and Administration) at AIIA Goa, said PRAYAS serves as a “beacon of hope” for families seeking comprehensive care. She emphasised that the initiative integrates Ayurveda’s holistic philosophy with modern therapies to achieve measurable improvements in children’s well-being.
Dr Kadam also noted the institute’s commitment to expanding the model across the country, aiming to reach a larger number of families and strengthen access to innovative, compassionate and integrative healthcare solutions for children with special needs.
